PEACE FOR EVERYONE?

"And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!'" (Luke 2:13-14.)

In the birth of Christ, could we expect peace for everyone?

Notice what the verse stated, "... on earth peace among those with whom he (God) is pleased!"

Genuine peace is not for everyone on earth. It's for those with whom God is pleased! For those whom His Spirit dwells. Those who belong to Christ (Romans 8:9).

The claim of some that the Holy Spirit is dwelling in everyone contradicts the Scripture. Besides, it is evident that not all are enjoying peace.

We read in Isaiah 48:22, "'There is no peace,' says the LORD, 'for the wicked.'"

However, Paul wrote to the believers at Colossae:

"To the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father" (Colossians 1:2).

And we read in Psalm 119:165:

"Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble."
