“RECONCILIATION” Making amends, settling disputes, forgiving hurts and
pain is part of the process of reconciliation. When restoring a severely
damaged relationship many times we hold back and struggle because we
think that forgiving that person means we have to be immediately
reconciled.
The truth is forgiveness is not reconciliation. It is possible to forgive an offender without being reconciled to him. Reconciliation is often a process that requires rebuilding of trust in the other person. Reconciliation is forgiveness in action. It takes time and a lot of patience. Christ is the ultimate example who bridged us to God thru complete forgiveness and reconciliation.
